Health Department Notice
This
is a friendly reminder for every one of you to please come and get your
H1N1 Vaccine if you have not already. It is not too late. And please
spread the word to family, friends, colleagues, and others.
Since
2009 H1N1 disease is likely to continue, we are promoting National
Influenza Vaccination Week as an important opportunity to maintain or
increase the number of people who get the 2009 H1N1 vaccine at a time
when the demand for vaccine has dropped significantly. Most people still
have not gotten the 2009 H1N1 vaccine - there is still room for
improvement among every age and risk group. Influenza is unpredictable
and we do not know the likelihood of a future wave of 2009 H1N1
influenza, but we do know that vaccination is the single best way to
reduce the health impact of influenza.
National
Influenza Vaccination Week is this week January 10-16.
Appointments
are no longer necessary. Vaccinations are available at the Health
Department during the following times for all age groups:
·
Mondays 9:00 a.m. to noon
·
Mondays through Fridays 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
All
H1N1 vaccine is provided free of charge through the Health Department.
