Henry County H1N1 Vaccine Clinics Open to Everyone – BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

The Ohio Department of Health has announced that they are making the H1N1 vaccine available to ALL residents beginning December 14th, 2009.

Because the vaccine is now available to all Ohio residents, the Henry County Health Department will be offering H1N1 vaccination clinics several days a week starting December 14th, 2009.  These clinics will still be by appointment only.   Walk-ins will not be seen.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 419-592-0037 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30, Monday through Friday.

All healthy people (without chronic health conditions) ages 2 through 49 are encouraged to receive the nasal spray vaccine to save the limited amount of injections for those persons who cannot take the nasal spray.

All H1N1 vaccine is provided free of charge through the Henry County Health Department.

Health Department Notice

This is a friendly reminder for every one of you to please come and get your H1N1 Vaccine if you have not already. It is not too late. And please spread the word to family, friends, colleagues, and others.

Since 2009 H1N1 disease is likely to continue, we are promoting National Influenza Vaccination Week as an important opportunity to maintain or increase the number of people who get the 2009 H1N1 vaccine at a time when the demand for vaccine has dropped significantly. Most people still have not gotten the 2009 H1N1 vaccine - there is still room for improvement among every age and risk group. Influenza is unpredictable and we do not know the likelihood of a future wave of 2009 H1N1 influenza, but we do know that vaccination is the single best way to reduce the health impact of influenza.

National Influenza Vaccination Week is this week January 10-16.

Appointments are no longer necessary. Vaccinations are available at the Health Department during the following times for all age groups:

·      Mondays 9:00 a.m. to noon

·      Mondays through Fridays 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.

All H1N1 vaccine is provided free of charge through the Health Department.
